Summerwood Songs (22 June 2021)

To revel in the greening power of Nature
is to uncover touchstones of Revivification.

I.

Last night, sitting in the lonesome wood
and watching it rain;
the heavy drops splashing down
over lush green leaves, all about us—
We felt the green-ness I’ve long loved
healing us; calling to us to return!
Re-emergent green-power_
I felt revivifying energy ever-flowing;
our woodsy souls becoming resilient,
once again.

We are greening on the path of healing.
Viriditas!

Let the revivifying waters come!
Let them fall_ dousing us in renewal!

“We are of the Earth; and this is our Renewal Song!”

Singing in the Wooded World,
Greening in the light of the Moon_
We are enabled to carry
the weights and scars
that are ours;
So mote it be!

I want to be the Green Man again,
fertile, fecund and virile—
putting on fruit
from the lush overabundance
of my own energy!
An Emerald Passion!

Let us dream ourselves embowered
in a lush green verdure—
sitting in a vine-embellished gazebo
witching in the wood of the lonesome!
Let us feel the natural energies of life
coursing through the ecosystem
all around us—
and so we sing!

Green! Green! Green is the Way
to healing and restoration;
and the sun shines down
when the clouds break_
bespeckling us in Solstice Light!

It is the Summer Solstice!

Come! Come, Viriditas!

II.

Otium Natura
I am high-flung on the crags of life! So_
let me now take leisure in Your Bower;
Beloved Nature!

I am Nature; root and flower—
I drink, I suck, I grow, I burst!
I am the singing of my song,
greening in poetic photosynthesis!

Ready at the song-root; I weed my-self,
watery transfusions carrying poisons away.
I purge, transfuse, and re-regulate
the channels of transforming light!

Lightening greens my verdure; I pant
in Summer’s Luxuriance and dream anew!
Imagining new states of becoming;
freshening directions;

I re-root my being!

I revel, twig and nut, on the ramble
betwixt the flowing blue of the sky
and the rushing sapphire rage of the river
that runs through every living thing.
I draw up my greening sustenance
from the blue, and flow, enflowering.
So mote it be!
