A Novel: Ham-Farir: The Faring of Matthew Thorin Dier (Volume III)

In this final volume of my novel, the second group of people who believe they know what happened to the Dier come to Whispering Eaves to tell their stories to the horror novelist and his life-partner.

Strange tales indeed!

Do Daniel and Rosalind believe what these characters are telling them?  Can we believe them?

As the novelist and his life-partner listen to these stories, tension also builds between the two groups who have come to tell what they believe they know.  Discussions and disagreements unfold around whose perspective is more ‘true’ to the known facts, and
whether what the second group reveals could possibly be true.

In the end, does anyone really know what happened to the Dier?

A Novel: Ham-Farir: The Faring of Matthew Thorin Dier (Volume II)

This second volume of my novel – subtitled “The Strange Haunting of Mary Igraine Whittier” – is written in-world by by Geoffrey Whittier and his cousin Edward; both being people in the first group.  The story tells what happened over in Milvale at Mary Igraine’s house in July of 1989, revealing much more about the fate of the Dier.

At the heart of this volume is another text – Chronicles of the Dier – also compiled and written by Geoffrey Whittier – which outlines the known dates during the decade that the Dier lived on Deer Hill in the 1880’s, revealing much of the fate in which they were entangled .

This volume ends with a section in which Geoffrey and Edward record things related to the Dier that happened after the events at Mary Igraine’s House in 1989, and through the 1990’s.  This narrative leads up to the events described in Volume III; revelation of who the Dier were and what happened to them.

A Novel: Ham-Farir: The Faring of Matthew Thorin Dier (Volume I)

This is a novel I wrote over the course of about 15 years, and is the kind of strange tale that I have always loved.

The story involves two groups of people who believe they know what happened to a strangely fated family who lived on Deer Hill, outside the fictional town of Wickersfeld PA, back in the 1880’s.  The two groups get together with a horror novelist – Daniel Westforth Whittier – over a period of days to share their stories and experiences, as they believe he may be the one person they know who might believe them!

In this first volume, the first group come to the novelist’s house – Whispering Eaves – on Deer Hill, and tell him – and his life-partner Rosalind; who has heard all kinds of stories about the Dier since marrying into the Whittier family – all they know and have found out about ‘the Dier.’

… Daniel and Rosalind soon realize they are getting much more than they bargained for when they agreed to hear all of these tales!

 I hope you enjoy it!
