Walker in the Night (6 January 2022)

I am a walker in the Night;
    Stag-in-the-Shadows,
Purple verdure my delight.
Moonlit amongst
the sequestering trees
   I stand and sing
of the Mystery in Threes.

Hail Cernunnos
         Stag-of-the-Wood_
Come with me, I pray you!
Flush the boredom
    from my soul
         and all listlessness
from my verdant flesh!

The Stag is out tonight
   _glistening in the Moonlight;
snow shoeing his Hooves
and garlands of Ivy and Holly
   suspended in his Golden Rack!

“Come to the Standing Stone
    by the Twisted Tree,
and there let your Imagination
    set your soul flying free_
In Pagan Dreams
    of the Old Elder Tree!”

I am a walker of margins
of Shores, Boundaries, Ley Lines_
I stand still upon Fences
   and look both ways
in wonder—
Seeking the Shining of Truth.
So mote it be.
